Bio: With Over 100 albums to his credit, Dennis Brown began his musical career at the age of 12 in 1969. He is known for his melodic singing style his lover's rock, and his concious lyrics. Bob Marley had once said that Dennis Brown was his favorite singer. Brown rose to Reggae fame in the late 70's and early 80's with songs such as "money in my Pocket", and a number of hits for Sly and Robbie's Taxi label such as "Here I Come," "Promised Land," and "Revolution". Brown toured extensively throughout the World, and became ill after returning from a 1999 tour of Brazil with his peer and long time friend Gregory Issacs. He passed on Thursday morning, July 1 at the University Hospital in Kingston due the announced cause of respiratory failure from pneumonia.
