Bio: Born in Jacmel, Haiti in 1922; Gregoire became a true pillar of Haitian art. His works have been placed on the same level Anselm Boix-Vive-France, Yvan Rabuzin-Yugoslavia, & Philome Obin-US.
From 1930-1937, he was taught at the Christian Teaching Brothers school. From 1937-1939 he studied cabinet making at Jacmel Vocational School, but later made a decision to become an artist.
His artwork was on display with the Jonathan Demme Art Collection in New York City. Gregoire passsed away at home in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on 7.28.2001, he was 79.
